2017 National Fall Prevention Safety Stand-down May 8-12

Posted: Apr 20, 2017

The Chapter is partnering with OSHA Training Education Institute, Oregon FACE, AGC Oregon Columbia Chapter, and Oregon OSHA to raise fall hazard awareness in an effort to stop fall fatalities and injuries.  Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees, accounting for 350 of the 937 construction fatalities recorded in 2015 (BLS data). Those deaths were preventable. The 2017 National Fall Prevention Stand-Down occurs May 8 through May 12. The Chapter encourages members to participate or organize events during the week to increase fall hazard awareness.

On May 12, Oregon and Washington partners are offering free training.
Time: 8:00 – 3:00 pm
